I began college as a cheerleader for the University of Cincinnati, but after a career-ending injury during my sophomore year, I searched for a way to stay connected to the sport and the team I loved. That passion led me to assisting with the creation and growth of the university’s cheer brand through social media. During my time with @gobearcatscheer, I successfully grew the account’s following by 67% by developing creative and engaging content tailored for each platform. I took the lead on planning, managing, and monitoring posts to align with both the team’s voice and the broader university brand. Beyond content creation, I attended games, events, and community appearances to capture authentic moments and provide real-time coverage, helping strengthen the connection between the team and its audience. This role not only allowed me to remain part of the program, but also gave me valuable experience in building brand visibility, fostering engagement, and learning how consistent storytelling across digital channels can create a loyal and active community.
